Content Strategist

A writing and content strategy role to support new brands, website launches, and existing clients.

We are seeking a Content Strategist to join our team at Sonder Creative. This is a full-time, remote position that is open to candidates throughout Canada, with preference for those in Western Canada.

The ideal candidate will have previous agency experience, a passion for digital marketing, exceptional problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and a keen interest in making online experiences better.

This is a client-facing role that requires collaboration with internal team members to produce thoughtful work. To excel in this role, you should have excellent writing and communications skills, strong analytical and problem solving capabilities, and have experience marketing online.


  • Engage our clients and team members as a critical thinker toward building content that contributes to solid user experiences.
  • Assess opportunities to create content that maximizes our client’s website search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Execute on thoughtful social media based campaigns to help our brands gain recognition and meet conversion goals.
  • Create and launch new web pages for existing client websites and assist in decision making required for optimal user experience.
  • Proactively review existing content on client websites to provide suggestions and recommendations for bettering user flow or content clarity.
  • Research and analyze competitor sites to provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist in migrating content from existing websites to newly designed sites in preparation for launch.
  • Reviewing, prioritizing and actioning support requests for existing client websites as they pertain to content creation.
  • Delegating support requests to various team members that may require design or development support.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Successfully completed a three-year post secondary diploma/degree in a relevant field of study that may include, but is not limited to business administration, communication or marketing.
  • 1+ years of industry experience.
  • Social media management experience
  • Experience with WordPress as a content management platform.
  • Good knowledge of SEO principals and experience writing optimized content.

Bonus Skills

  • Demonstrated SEO campaign experience
  • Experience with Figma (or other web design programs)
  • Demonstrated understanding of WCAG 2.1 principles.
  • Experience coordinating projects
  • Experience in a digital content writing role
  • Familiarity working with project management tools such as Clickup
